Vagifem is used to treat menopausal symptoms such as vaginal dryness, burning, and irritation​​.

How to Use

Preparation: Wash your hands before and after using the medication.
Applicator Use: Each Vagifem tablet comes in a single-use disposable applicator. Insert the applicator containing the Vagifem tablet into your vagina.
Insertion: Gently press the plunger until fully depressed, which releases the insert inside your vagina. The insert will dissolve over several hours.
Disposal: After depressing the plunger, gently remove the applicator and dispose of it properly, similar to a plastic tampon applicator. The applicator should be discarded after one use.
Consistency: Try to use Vagifem at the same time each day for consistency.

Warnings
Do not use if you have certain conditions like undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, liver disease, or a history of heart attack, stroke, blood clots, or certain cancers.
Increases the risk of uterine cancer, blood clots, stroke, heart attack, and other cancers​​.

Side Effects
Serious: Includes heart attack symptoms, stroke signs, blood clots, jaundice, memory problems, unusual vaginal bleeding, and high blood calcium levels.
Common: Nausea, vomiting, headache, swelling, weight gain, breast pain, vaginal itching or discharge, and changes in menstrual periods​​.

Interactions
Vagifem may interact with other medications, including prescription, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Inform your doctor or pharmacist about all medications you’re taking​​.

Special Precautions
Avoid smoking and using other vaginal products without a doctor’s advice.
Grapefruit may interact with estradiol, leading to unwanted side effects​​.

Storage
Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat​​.
