Humalog KwikPen 100

The Humalog KwikPen contains Humalog Insulin Lispro, which is a rapid-acting human insulin analog used to help control blood sugar levels in children and adults with diabetes mellitus. The KwikPen is used to help conveniently administer your Insulin Lispro dose without the uncertainty involved with proper injection technique, and the additional involvement of vials, needles, syringes, etc. The Humalog KwikPen is pre-filled with Humalog Insulin Lispro, which is a man-made insulin analog that works similar to naturally occurring insulin. Insulin is a hormone that is produced by beta cells in the pancreas, which is a large organ near your stomach. Insulin is primarily involved with the regulation of blood sugar levels by controlling the break down of food (sugars, fats and proteins) and promoting the absorption of sugar from your blood into your fat, liver and skeletal muscle cells.

You should subcutaneously (under the skin) inject your dose within 15 minutes before the start of your meal or immediately after the meal (within 20 minutes of starting your meal). Suitable injection sites are; the tissue of the upper arm, abdomen, buttocks or thigh.
